Al Lyons is a writer, musician, educator and licensed counselor in the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains of Asheville, NC. His short story "Saturday Afternoon at the Drive In" was recently published in the literary journal of the Dead Mule School of Southern Literature. His short story "Boxcars Burning" will be published December 2013 in the Journal of Microliterature. After spending 2 years as a Creative Writing major at the University of Tampa, he went on to graduate from the University of Florida with a BA in English. He earned an MA in Counselor Education from the University of South Florida. He currently serves on the faculties of St. Petersburg College and AB Tech Community College. He continues to study the writing craft at UNC-Asheville/Great Smokies Writing Program, through the school of graduate studies.
